I work primarily in oil, from life and from my photographs. I love to see how light transforms objects and places, and to capture that transformation in paint. Eleanor Blair graduated from The Cooper Union of the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City in 1969. She moved to Gainesville in 1971 and has been painting Central Florida scenes since that time. She is a well-known member of the art community in Gainesville, exhibiting in local shows and volunteering in the Arts In Medicine program at Shands AGH. Visitors are always welcome to her downtown studio.

Thomas Center Galleries- 302 NE 6th Avenue Gainesville Florida 32601 (352) 393-8532. Considered Gainesville's cultural center, the Thomas Center is housed in a beautifully restored Mediterranean Revival-style hotel. The Thomas Center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and contains art galleries, 1920's period rooms, local history exhibits, performance space, banquet rooms, and meeting rooms. The Thomas Center is surrounded by the lovely Thomas Center Gardens and the Grace and Sidney Knight Children's Theatre. The center is the site of a variety of art exhibits and musical programs. 

University of Florida Galleries- Various locations on the UF Gainesville Florida campus. (352) 273-3000. The University is host to a number of galleries including the University Gallery, Grinter Gallery and Focus Gallery. Check the link for current and upcoming exhibitions.

Hippodrome Theater Gallery- 25 SE 2nd Place Gainesville Florida 32601. (352) 375-4477. In 1979 the Hippodrome moved into Gainesville's most prominent building, the historic Federal Building, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and located in the heart of downtown Gainesville. The Hippodrome, with support from the community, the State of Florida and a $150,000 Challenge Grant from the NEA, raised nearly $2 million dollars to restore this magnificent building and convert it into its present facility: a 266 seat, thrust-stage theater with rehearsal space and a scene shop, an 80-seat cinema, an art gallery, bar, box office and administrative offices. Hosts to various local artists throughout the year.

The Santa Fe Galleries, comprised of the Santa Fe Gallery, Exhibition Halls, and Art in Public Spaces Program, supports the College’s mission of adding value to the lives of our students and enriching our community by exhibiting quality artwork in gallery and public locations.  The Santa Fe Galleries serve as a teaching resource for Santa Fe College students, faculty and staff, and the community at large.  The broad range of quality artwork shown at the Santa Fe Gallery, Exhibition Halls, and in public spaces on the Northwest Campus and Educational Centers suggests to college students, faculty, staff, and visitors the endless variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional arts.
