I am a proud member of the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors, and was just re-elected to the GACAR Board of Directors for 2015-2018. I thought this would be a good time to talk about just what GACAR is, and what it does for Gainesville and Alachua County.
GACAR was founded in 1940 as the Gainesville Board of Realtors. From that beginning it has grown into an association of over 1,000 Realtor and Business Partner members, all of whom are dedicated to serving the community and providing professional services to the current and future residents of our area. Most real estate agents in the area belong to GACAR, and abide by the rules of professional ethics and conduct the Association reinforces.
As the voice of Real Estate in Alachua County, GACAR continues to take stands to ensure we are both progressive and ahead of the curve on issues that affect our members and the industry in the area, state and nation. Our vision is dedicated to elevating the excellence, promoting the advancement and ensuring the public trust of the real estate profession while providing our members with the resources, technology, educational opportunities and leadership necessary to conduct an ethical, professional and profitable business.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, I have chaired numerous committees including the Young Professionals, Leadership, and Grievance committees, each of which is rewarding in its own way. Working with GACAR is just one more way of giving back to my community. Thank you to the members of GACAR, I am honored to serve.
